HLTV.org has learned that the cash prizes of the AMD Sapphire CS:GO Invitational have already been paid out, just a fortnight after the event was held. The news comes as a major surprise as teams usually have to wait several weeks, if not months, to receive the prizes from the tournaments they attend. AMD Sapphire, which was organised by Heaven Media, took place at the five-star Corinthia hotel in the Czech capital of Prague, with $20,000 distributed among the top three teams. Ninjas in Pyjamas walked out winners in the tournament, defeating VeryGames in the final to secure a $10,000 cheque. A Heaven Media source told HLTV.org that he hopes other tournament organisers will follow this example and start paying out prizes shortly after the events have come to an end. |
